Each
TransDance Journey begins with a movement meditation designed to unlock
and unlayer unnecessary tension and invite you into a deeper experience
of enlivened embodiment.
We then explore through intention, imagination and freeform
ecstatic dance a symbol, theme or ritual from one of the great wisdom
traditions as a gateway to conscious awakening and the celebration of
life. Spaciously
facilitated. All movement is at your own pace. Come dance
what you need to dance!

Heather
Munro Pierce

is an
inspirational leader in the conscious dance movement. She
is the creator of a form of movement meditation/ecstatic dance called
TransDance which she leads both nationally and internationally at
events dedicated to nurturing awakening and igniting joy. As
well as producing her own workshops, circles and retreats, Heather
leads events for many groups and organizations, including Esalen, The
Science and Non-duality Conference and the Omega Institute. She is the
creative force behind the dance meditation audio CD Embodied
Awakening Through the Elements. Her passion and commitment spring
from her own experience with dance as a path to healing, health and
wholeness.

As one of the
West Coast’s most notable and sought after DJs in the yoga and
conscious movement scene, Dragonfly has supported and performed with
some of yoga’s most beloved teachers and artists: Shiva Rea, Hemalayaa,
Janet Stone, Sienna Sherman, Shakti Sunfire, MC Yogi, Desert Dwellers,
Michael Franti, Jai Uttal, Krishna Das, David Stringer, etc. As a
consummate crate-digger his days are spent down the rabbit-holes of
sound, constantly discovering emerging talent and the hidden gems of
sonic possibility. With an ear for the exotic and a background in
movement arts, his approach is through the emotive keyhole of the
psyche, while unlocking the heart of community. As a percussionist
who’s adventured extensively throughout the near and far east, his
mixes are drenched in Indo-Arabic idioms, accented with tribal motifs
and woven into intoxicating rhythms and groove.

Pangea
is a true music aficionado and dance DJ who stirs up the dance floor
with an electro-organic style all his own. He searches the globe
to find dance tracks that have complex arrangements, are infused with
rich instrumentations, and have an emotional hit. Genres include
gypsy funk, percussive tribal, remixed classics, conscious house,
bass-heavy dub, heart-centered melodies, and ecstatic trance.
He creates an intentional musical journey for the dancer in which to lose
one’s self, in order to find one’s self, on the dance
floor, amongst friends.
