Kundalini Dance with Yarah
and DJ Malacai

Kundalini Dance is an
ecstatic dance guided through our seven chakras using a musical map
that truly takes us deep within.  We shake it up to wake it
up, feel it to heal it, and take a one-way dance journey into our own
evolution. You don’t need any dance experience or
knowledge of the chakras to attend – just a willingness to
let go and play full out. This is no ordinary dance class,
it’s personal healing and conscious growth in
action…in ecstatic celebration!

Yarah and Malacai both come
to the conscious dance community after being deeply involved with
electronic music culture for over a decade.  It has been the
desire to follow their own personal paths into the realms of conscious
living, healing, and DANCING that united these two souls to begin
working together.  Malacai holds the masculine energy with his
technological and musical talents, integrating powerful combinations of
genres, rhythms, and moods to set the space to co-create a full circle
journey into ecstasy.  Yarah will gently guide the journey
with the feminine flow of grace; through her own embodiment of the
dance she inspires others to “move through it.”
Come experience the alchemical balance these two bring to the dance
floor, providing a potent platform for YOUR full authentic expression
in movement.

begins with opening up to Sacred Space in a simple Group Dance Prayer.

Catalyst will feature a
Guest DJ each month drawing from the vast resource of amazing
DJ’s in the Bay Area

and/or Live
Music with hosting some of the great musicians, music groups and
drummers in the Bay Area,

specializing
with improvisational jamming that will inspired by the dancers.

Catalyst will
host a wide
selection of the most prominent Bay Area Guest Somatic Dance/ Movement
Teachers,

drawing from
the many amazing movement modalities available ,

to support
inspiring you to your next level of dance.

also be time for Networking and Community Connection.

Geej Mauriva

 

 

Geej
Mauriva has
been DJing in and around the Bay Area since the early
90’s.  As a resident DJ at Dance Jam in Berkeley,
Barefoot Boogie in San Francisco and NCDC’s Dance Camps for
15 years he has continuously filled the floors and brought ecstasy and
consciousness to the community dance movement.  Geej plays a
wide variety of tribally infused funk-filled rhythms from around the
globe and beyond.  He is always deeply connected with the
vibration and energy of the dance floor and loves helping dancers
connect to the deepest parts of themselves through the positive
vibration of music.

Liz Boubion – Anna
Halprin Life/Art Process - Movement-Based
Expressive Arts

 

 

The Halprin-Life/Art Process is a
Movement-Based Expressive Arts modality originated in the 1950′s by
Anna Halprin, who is among the first pioneers in the contemporary
Western world to use dance as a healing and transformative art. In the
1970′s, Daria Halprin further developed the artistic and therapeutic
aspects of this work and articulated the methodology that is currently
taught in the Tamalpa Institute.   Halprin
Practitioner and multi-disciplinary performance artist, Liz
Boubion from Oakland, CA. will be offering a taste of this
work inviting the expression of one’s internal
landscape in relation to Self, other and the group body
through movement, poetic dialog, and sound.  Liz will also be
offering a series of day-long Halprin workshops in Sebastopol in
November and December.
